About Us

We are a swimming club serving south Northumberland

Our swimming club was first affiliated in 1974 and has trained thousands of swimmers since our inception 50 years ago! Our club runs from Ashington Leisure Centre and holds training sessions 5 days a week catering for all ages of swimmers

A friendly focus on competition

We want our swimmers to achieve the very best for themselves and have successfully entered swimmers at regional and national events, our focus is on creating a supportive atmosphere where swimmers feel comfortable to compete at the level they want to.

Volunteer led

Our team of coaches are on hand to help our swimmers develop and learn, often starting as parents of swimmers themselves!

New swimmer requirements

We want our swimmers to acheive the very best for themselves, and we place a friendly focus on competition, as we realise that not all children thrive in a competitive environment.

We welcome swimmers having completed stage 6/7 of the ‘Learn to Swim’ Program and who are able to swim 100 metres.

We place no lower age restriction on our swimmers (provided they have met the Learn to Swim criteria), however our swimmers must be able to pay attention and take instruction from our coaches from, and we do understand that this is something that can be dependent on the age of the child.

We also hold masters sessions for our experienced swimmers, both those who have developed with us through the years, and those that have joined us as adults.

If you either yourself or your child would like to come along and have a trial, please get in touch via the contact us form.
